DevOps Engineer

About the role

coto is a rapidly-scaling startup building a 24x7 digital emotional wellness platform, connecting people with vetted experts through real-time, personalized consultations. We assess, decide and adapt at a rapid pace as we scale across India, the diaspora and new global markets.

We're adding a DevOps Engineer to help build resilient, always-on infrastructure for a consumer platform real users depend on every day.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain scalable, resilient cloud-based infrastructure using an Infrastructure as Code approach.
  • Ensure smooth operation of implemented systems, including preventative measures to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Bring DevOps tools and techniques into the operation of the whole IT infrastructure, enhancing service and security.
  • Support developers by creating and maintaining scalable, resilient cloud-based infrastructure using IaC.
  • Take initiative, spot opportunities and drive positive change within the systems.
  • Drive CI/CD workflow standards and a DevOps culture across the wider Digital team.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, design and security.

What we're looking for

  • Knowledge and implementation of Terraform; minimum 3–4 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP with IaC using Terraform; experience with pipeline configuration and best practice, preferably with GitHub.
  • Strong scripting skills for *nix systems (e.g. bash); Docker skills; working knowledge of Git.
  • Proven ability to code against REST APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle, including testing, deployment, release strategies and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills, and a good level of English proficiency.

Bonus

  • Kubernetes skills, especially GKE & Helm.
  • Distributed event store and stream processing solutions such as Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases; Windows/PowerShell; back-end programming, especially C#.
  • Experience supporting scalable products for a large user base.
