QA Engineer

About the role

coto is a digital emotional wellness platform offering 24x7 expert consultations across mental health, relationships, astrology and alternative healing. As we expand into Canada, the US and the UK, you'll ensure our platform delivers seamless, high-quality experiences across every touchpoint.

What you'll do

• Testing & QA — Comprehensive mobile testing across iOS and Android; API testing for real-time expert consultations; end-to-end testing across session formats (live video, audio, chat, anonymous); validate payment integrations and pricing multipliers across geographies and expert tiers.
• Automation & AI integration — Design and implement test automation frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Playwright or Cypress); leverage AI-powered tools (TestCraft, Testim, Mabl, Functionize) for intelligent test creation; use AI assistants (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to generate test cases and scripts; implement AI-driven visual and self-healing test automation; write Gherkin/BDD test cases with Cucumber or SpecFlow; maintain automated suites in CI (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Test management & reporting — Manage test cases and execution in Zephyr, TestRail, Azure Test Plans or Jira/Xray; build test plans and strategies; generate defect analysis, coverage metrics and quality dashboards; maintain requirement-to-defect traceability; use AI tools to analyze results and drive improvement.
• Data validation & monitoring — Write and run MongoDB queries for data validation; use AI tools to debug data inconsistencies; collaborate with data teams on user journey and matching-algorithm accuracy.
• Observability & performance — Monitor application performance with Datadog and similar tools; set up alerts and dashboards for critical flows; analyze metrics for optimization opportunities.
• Quality strategy — Develop testing strategies for AI-driven personalization and expert matching; ensure quality for trust & safety and moderation features; test gamification and loyalty features; drive quality KPIs.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of mobile testing experience (iOS/Android); strong API testing skills (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or Newman).
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Playwright, Cypress or Robot Framework) and AI-powered testing tools (Testim, Mabl, TestCraft, Functionize).
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (Zephyr, TestRail, Azure Test Plans, Jira/Xray), MongoDB and database testing, and telemetry/monitoring tools (Datadog preferred).
• Understanding of Gherkin/BDD (Cucumber/SpecFlow); experience using AI tools for test generation, debugging and maintenance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; strong analytical skills; CI/CD and Git experience; proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript or C#.

Bonus

• Experience in wellness, healthcare or consumer-facing applications; knowledge of security testing and compliance.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure), and real-time communication systems (WebSockets, video/audio streaming).
