Tharuni is a NGO (www.tharuni.org) working for the welfare of the Adolescent girls and women for the past 22 years in the state of Telangana. Tharuni could mentor more than 20,000 rural girls as change agents through 'Balika Sanghas'- girl child clubs - till today in the rural areas. Tharuni could run successful campaigns against Child Marriages, Human trafficking, Child Sexual Abuse and infanticide/foeticide. Tharuni also works as Technical Partner for Telangana Police for initiatives like Bharosa - support centres for rape victims, NRI Women protection cell and Pride Place - Trans people protection cell.
