I always thought Rakhi was for sisters and brothers, but this year I really want to tie one on my son's wrist. We've grown so close lately, and the whole idea of protection feels different now. Is it weird for a mom to do this? Would it be disrespectful to the tradition?

I don't think it will be a disrespect to the tradition. Anyone can tie a rakhi.

Rakhi is tied with a bond is where a brother protects his sister, so why not a child to the mother, but as an astrologer, I would clearly tell you we need to see the moon placement in the child in his chart. Maybe he’s not ready and as of now, he needs the protection.
