Hi, I'm Deepika. What role does diet play in managing hormonal imbalances and menstrual issues? @DrAshwiniBGandhi
Balanced and nutritious diet is required by one and all. Obesity and malnutrition may lead to irregular periods.
Answer
Hi, I'm Simran. What role do genetics play in determining hormonal health and menstrual patterns? @Dr.Kalpna
Genetics is often overlooked when it comes to our menstrual health. Knowing when your mom and grandmother, got their periods, reached menopause, how their periods progressed and even if they had any health conditions between menarche to menopause can give you an idea of your health factors too. If close family members have health conditions we are also at an increased likelihood of developing them as well. But it is important to remember, these are only risk factors which increase chances, and doesn't mean you will definitely get them. Leading a healthy lifestyle can outplay bad genes.
Answer
Hi, this is Ritu. Why do I experience mood changes and irritability during certain times of the month? @Dr.Kalpna
Mood changes are commonly noted in your luteal phase of your menstrual cycle. Often when progesterone peaks and then falls close to your period days. If your mood changes are affecting your day-to-day functioning consider checking in with your gynecologist.
Answer

Answer
What is a menstrual cup? What are its pros and cons, and how do you use one? @Sexologist_DrKalps
A menstrual cup is a cup that is designed to collect menstrual blood. It is made out of medical grade silicon, and comes in 2-3 different sizes. Menstrual cups are economical, can be kept inside for 10-12hrs, don't lead to rashes, may reduce period cramps, no need to worry about any smell, is environment friendly, and lasts for good 5-6yrs, if used well. It can be easily washed with water, needs sterilization before and after use....needs to be inserted with the help of a few folds. Only drawback - if not inserted properly, it may leak... and needs some practice to insert :)
Answer
Menstrual Cups vs Tampons. Which one do you think is better ? @docmfrank
Menstrual cup is better than tampons, anyday. Menstrual cups are not known to cause infections if cleaned, inserted properly, and removed on time. Tampons have been known to have caused infections in the past, and yet are not as safe as menstrual cups :)
Answer
I dropped the menstural cup I was using in the sink the other day. Thankfully I had another one, so I used it because I did not feel like inserting the one I had dropped despite of the fact that I had cleaned it well again with water. Can I use the menstural cup that I dropped in the sink?? Is it safe?? The sink that I dropped it into was my own. But since sinks are usually full of germs, so is it safe?? @docmfrank #trending #periods #mensturalcups #mensturalhealth
You can sterilize the cup, and then use it since it fell in the sink :) On sterilization it is likely to be free from germs....so you can use it, then.
Answer
Hey @Sexologist_DrKalps What purpose does a menstrual cup serve, and is it really a better option than pads? Reflecting on my own journey, I initially relied solely on pads to manage my menstrual cycle. However, my curiosity was piqued when I stumbled upon an advertisement for menstrual cups as a teenager. Intrigued, I delved into research about them, enticed by the prospect of extended wear compared to pads. Despite my initial hesitation to broach the topic with my mother, I decided to explore this alternative. I'm looking for advice and especially interested in hearing about your experiences
The menstrual cup is a boon to say the least. It has various benefits such as, it can be kept inside for 10-12hrs safely, is economical, environment friendly, and stays with you for 5+ yrs ( depending on your usage). You can wash it with water and sterilize it easily as it's made out of medical grade silicon. At times, you may not even feel that you are on your period. For me, it's one of the best choice that I've made in the last four years :) I am able to workout better, my cramps have reduced, and I feel relaxed about being on my period.

Identifying and understanding learning disabilities is crucial for children's academic success and overall well-being. Rather than dismissing struggles as careless mistakes, recognizing the signs of a learning disability allows for early intervention and tailored support. By pinpointing specific challenges in areas such as reading, writing, or math, educators and parents can implement targeted strategies to help children overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Embracing a proactive approach to addressing learning disabilities fosters a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and build confidence in their abilities.
Every child is different and has there unique qualities and disabilities as well. We need to recognize them.

At its core, the connection between Ayurveda and Women health is rooted in the balance and harmony of the female body. The ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda recognizes that each woman has unique needs, and through mindful practices such as yoga, diet and lifestyle, it seeks to empower women to embrace their natural cycles.Ayurveda works to achieve balance by addressing the three doshas, or subtle energies that govern our bodies. These doshas are known as vata, pitta and kapha. Each dosha is associated with the elements of wind, fire, and water respectively and serve to regulate the physical body and the mind. When our doshas are in balance, we are healthy, vibrant and radiating peace. At a deeper level, Ayurveda looks at the physiological changes that happen in the body during our menstrual cycle. On a vata dosha day, for example, a woman may experience feelings of restlessness or anxiety. On a pitta day, she may have an increased appetite or feel irritable. And on a kapha day, she may be proneto fatigue or have difficulty concentrating. By acknowledging these nuances and adjusting her diet and lifestyle accordingly, a woman can learn to identify which foods will best nourish and restore her balance during the different phases of her cycle. Ayurveda Priests or holistic health practitioners are also available to guide women in developing a meaningful relationship with their menstrual cycle. Through such practices as yoga, meditation, massage, and breathwork, these professionals help women understand not only their body’s response to their monthly fluctuations, but also how to intuitively respond to them. Ultimately, Ayurveda provides a safe, holistic space for women to honour and celebrate their cycle as an important part of their emotional and physical wellbeing. By becoming more mindful and aware of the subtle changes that occur each month from one dosha to another, women are able to learn how to better nourish and care for their bodies .more
