Hi Dr Frank, So, I have an app to track my period date. However, sometimes I forget to add the date, and hence, I try and remember it. Here's how I understand that my period is on the way- - I experience lower back pain and it's extremely pronounced just before my period. - My legs pain, and sometimes that's mild swelling as well if I stand for too long. - I have mild to moderate headache. - My mood swings are in full "swing" just before my period. - I feel too hot at times, and tend to sweat more than usual. - My cravings increase, and my appetite goes down. - There's loads of bloating, my stomach puffs up, so does my face, and yes, acidity is something that I usually face just before menstruation. - Skin becomes oily and I feel really tired and drained out a day before my period...anyone can make it out easily.

Hi @docmfrank I've decided to workout for at least 5-6 days a week, even if I am busy :) And to go for a walk after my dinner.

#PeriodTalk We all know from common knowledge that an ideal period lasts between 3-5 days. However, for some women periods can last for 7 days throughout their lives. This doesn't indicate that something is wrong. The ideal period length is the average you have for each period. A normal period day would be using 3-5 pads, or changing out your cup 3-4 times a day. More on the first couple of days when periods are usually heavier. If you have to use more than 5-7 pads during all days of your period and feel increasing fatigue it would be ideal to get it checked to ensure there is no cause for heavy bleeding and you don't have anemia as a result.

Why am I bleeding a little bit after sex?
Hi there, I hope you are well. Penetrative sex may lead to bleeding, especially if it's rough sex, there isn't enough lubrication, etc. If you frequently bleed after sex, then, it is important to rule out other issues such as endometriosis, PID, Uterine Fibroids, polyps , infections, etc. Hence, kindly check with your gynecologist and seek an opinion over it :) You shall be fine, don't worry. #AskDocM Do you know when you are ovulating? A 34-year-old woman noticed bleeding and cramping for two days approximately two weeks before her periods. This has been happening consecutively for six months now. She notes spotting and cramping on one side. The bleeding stops on its own. She uses panty liner and doesn't require pads as the bleeding isn't much. Do you think she should consult a gynecologist? What could be reasons she is noticing spotting during her menstrual cycle?
Hi @docmfrank I hope you are well, Spotting can happen due to various reasons including - - Use of birth control pills - Ovulation - Pregnancy - Implantation bleeding - Uterine fibroids - Endometriosis - PID ( Pelvic inflammation disease) - Sexually transmitted disease - PCOS - Thyroid issues - Certain medications - Trauma caused to the reproductive organs such as that during "rough sex". - Stress - Uterine polyps , and even cancer. I think in her case, it could be ovulation, or something like PCOS, birth control, or Fibroids :) She should see a gynecologist once, and go through a Transvaginal scan to understand the reason behind it. Prevention is better than cure :)

Here are few tips that can help you in losing weight, however, weight loss should be done with the help of personalized diet and hence, you are feel free to book a one on one consultation with me. Start by making small changes to your daily routine. 1) Ensure to include enough fibre, protein, and good fats to the diet. Beans, lentils, sprouts, oats, wheat, barley, daliya, dairy and dairy products, fatty fish, lean meat, flaxseeds, walnuts are good sources. 2) Eat small meals, you can have 5-5 meals a day and have healthy snacks in between. 3) Maintain portion control, and eat in moderation. 4) Go for a walk, or you can even opt for home -workouts. 5) Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily, it helps with weight loss. 6) Avoid consuming refined, ultra processed and packaged foods. 7) Eat simple, home-cooked meals. 8) Keep a tab on your salt, sugar, and oil intake. 9) Get 7-8hrs of sleep, daily. 10) Have two fruits regularly, and salads as well.
