both are different ! loneliness is an emotional state if mind when the person is feeling left out, depressed and the thoughts and emotions are negative. where as a person is in positive State of mind , happy can choose to be alone!

What can the causes be of feeling lonely if u have loving and caring family, and good company of friends. The pther day my daughter lashed out at me as to how lonelu she has been feeling and how bad i am at understanding her. So wanted to ask this and get my mind cleared.

learn something new. new skill. spend time with yourself work on personal growth.
Loneliness is quite common in today's world. We share a lot on the internet but, really doesn't talk about how we feel. One thing I would suggest is, spend some time with your family and loved ones, if it's possible. Or else spend time with yourself and talk to yourself about what exactly you're feeling that is making you feel detached from the rest of the world. You may also try that through a journal. Sometimes even when we are lonely we should distract ourselves from thoughts. At the end of the day knowing your self, and being at peace with yourself is by far the greatest achievement

How can I maintain that line between being alone and not feeling lonely?? I really love being alone, i like my alone time which gives me peace. But on the other hand, i don’t want to feel lonely and not have friends, etc.
only you can know when you are enjoying your me tone and when you are slipping into loneliness. live in the present so you are aware of your thoughts and emotions . this way you will have a better control on your state of mind and not get into loneliness
