My friend told me yesterday that in her family from a long time only endogamy is allowed. No one does love marriage im their family but she has fallen in love with someone- Though my biggest question is,what is endogamy? She was telling me everything with so much sadness that i couldnt ask her what it is.

Endogamy is basically when one marries within one's Caste or religion, and not outside it.

Ever heard of marrying your cousin? Creepy, right? Endogamy is basically the opposite. It's marrying someone from your own social group, like your religion or maybe even the same neighborhood (though that's less common these days). Think marrying someone who shares your traditions and stuff. I hope I am able to explain this
