As a woman going through a divorce, I'm confused by the conflicting perspectives on which gender gets more negatively impacted. Men claim they get brutalized and screwed over, losing homes/assets/kids. But feminists argue women statistically suffer more financial/emotional hardship post-divorce. How can both views be valid? @RC_Mayanka
Hi! Hope you are well! Divorce in itself is a huge change irrespective of men or women. It's tough and painful for both. Both men and women lose out on specific things post a divorce. So, both the sides tend to suffer in different ways. The focus should be brought more on self and building up your confidence to take on any challenges head on. Try not to think about the negatives post a divorce shift your thoughts to the positives post your divorce. What are the things you can do, wanted to do for yourself. Hi girls.. Heard something weird today. I was talking to a friend of mine. And we had a heated debate on the alimony the women get. He said there are many cases reported in India where women only leave their husbands for money and their property. I was so struck by it that I didn't believe it. I just want to know if a woman is working and is independent, does she still get the money and all ??? And is it true what my friend said ! @Nazneen
Regardless of gender, i believe greed plays a big part in this conversation. Women who are independent financially too seek greatest alimony from their husbands upon divorce. (Reason being greed- Since they can, so why not?). Laws in these scenarios are made in favor of women and some women tend to misuse these laws and often in divorce cases, alimony is used as some sort of extortion technique.

One of my relatives got divorced last year and now she wants to get back with her husband. I'm not able to understand the thing, if she had to go back to him only then why did she divorce. Why does a woman get divorced only to go back to her ex? @Zanzanil
there are a lot of aspects involved in a relationship. there's always a reason, rather a story for everything we do. this story has to be identified. there are stories that make people give others a second chance. and that's absolutely ok to want to give others a second chance.
Answer
Would men be scared off by dating or marrying a 25 year old divorced woman with no kids? Do men try to avoid being with divorced women? @Zanzanil
do you really want a man who cares about the tag more than you? there are all sorts of men out there. what you look for you will get. eve after a failed relationship with everyale in my life, father, brother, friends, husband, I still knew that there are chivalrous men out there who genuinely value and respect women. and I started attempting to make my son one of them. at a point I wanted an adult man to set the example for my son.........and inam dating one now.........and I feel so happy to tell him that I'd what my son to be like him when he grows. so first you have to let go of the tag of divorce or age or anything that is not a reflection of who you are as a person. believe in yourself gurl.

Why are divorced women frowned upon in Indian society? It's a real struggle. I recently got divorced and now feel the weight of society's judgment. Just trying to move forward, but it's tough with all the societal acceptance. How do I overcome this and find acceptance? @Zanzanil
Hey girl! I myself got divorced some 7 years back and have gone through something similar in those times in a small town. It was difficult for sure, but not for long. The moment I realised that it doesn't matter how they see me, it's my life and I have to deal with my trauma not them. It was a easy journey from there.
