Hi friend, I really need advice on how to tackle this situation. After 2 months of marriage, I want to visit my own house. So I told my husband about it, and he said, 'Okay, let's go.' But firstly, he says, 'You have to ask permission from my father.' I say, 'What? I have to ask your father to meet my father.' What's the matter? I am not going to ask anyone to meet my parents. Whenever I want to meet them, I go and meet the head of this house. He also gave a lecture that if you are in your house, you should ask permission if you want to move outside. Then it is also your house, and you should go and ask for permission for it. Why should I ask for permission to meet my parents from my in-laws? And he got angry.

You don't need anyone's permission but the thing is these things are in our culture since ages and it's difficult to get rid of them.

You can inform them only if you are staying with your in laws but no seeking permission. Remember what you start now will make them habitual of later.
