I know Raksha Bandhan is widely celebrated, but is it mainly a Hindu thing? I’m curious if it’s a festival exclusive to Hinduism or if people from other religions in India also celebrate it. How widespread is the tradition across different communities and cultures?

I don’t have a sister, and I want to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. How do you celebrate Raksha Bandhan without a sister? Are there alternative ways to honor the tradition, maybe with close friends or other family members? I want to keep the spirit of the festival alive.
Yes, of course! Rakshabandhan is celebrated with all those who we want to protect or with whom we are safe or have an emotional bond, if you do not have any siblings then you celebrate it with a girl who you consider as your sister or any girl you want to protect, make them feel safe or have an emotional bond with. For a girl's POV it's all about the blessings and love she feels for her brother. She prays for the success of her brother. you can celebrate this festival with your friends and your family members too, and you can come to my live session for more information. Thank You So Much God Bless You & I wish that you Celebrate this beautiful festival With Your Friends And Family happily. Shriiya Shukla, Tarot Expert at CoTo .

Is it common for sisters to visit their brothers' houses for Raksha Bandhan? Do sisters go to their brothers' houses to celebrate, or do brothers come to their sisters? I want to make sure we’re following the right tradition and making the most of this special day.
Hi, Both Sister and Brother can go to each other's house and can tie Rakhi. It is just to see who is comfortable traveling. you can celebrate this festival by going to each other's house. Growing up, I always celebrated Rakhi, but I never really knew the story behind it. What is the myth behind Rakhi? I’d love to learn more about the legends and tales associated with Raksha Bandhan. Does it have roots in ancient history or mythology that make it so special?

Hi in ancient Hindu mythology Raksha Bandhan has a history. In Mahabharata time Draupadi tied a Rakhi to Krishna and he saved her from distress by supplying silk sarees when she needed them. I heard that Rakhi is sometimes tied to gods, and it got me wondering. Why is Rakhi tied to God? Is there a special significance or story behind this practice? I’m curious about how this tradition started and what it symbolizes in our culture and rituals.
hello 🙋‍♂️ Anonymous this side tarot kumkum raksha bandhan is celebrated for the relationship between brothers and sisters and we tie first rakhi to God because for us God se first who protect us from danger just like our brother. and raksha bandhan / rakhi we celebrate because Once Lord Krishna cut his finger, Draupadi tied a piece of cloth from her saree, which stopped the bleeding. After this incident, the piece of cloth becomes a sacred thread And symbolizes the true significance of Raksha Bandhan hope you understand😉

I was chatting with my Punjabi friend, and she mentioned something about Rakhi. Do Punjabis celebrate Rakhi too? How do they usually celebrate it? I'm curious if there are any unique traditions or customs that Punjabis follow for Raksha Bandhan. It would be interesting to see how different cultures within India celebrate this special bond between siblings.
Anonymous9d
Yes all Indians celebrate Rakhi festival. In north it’s almost the same custom of tying the sacred thread on the brothers hand. In south india they change the janeu on Raksha Bandhan that’s the difference in tradition.

Raksha Bandhan is known as the festival of Raksha, meaning protection. But is there more to it than just safety? Could the Rakhi also symbolize love, care, and the special bond between a brother and sister?
Anonymous9d
Yes Raksha Bandhan symbolises both protection and love and affection between siblings. But that’s not all there is also Hindu mythology attached to it. To know more about protection and get guidance join my live and my community … see you there.
