I know Raksha Bandhan is widely celebrated, but is it mainly a Hindu thing? I’m curious if it’s a festival exclusive to Hinduism or if people from other religions in India also celebrate it. How widespread is the tradition across different communities and cultures?

Is it common for sisters to visit their brothers' houses for Raksha Bandhan? Do sisters go to their brothers' houses to celebrate, or do brothers come to their sisters? I want to make sure we’re following the right tradition and making the most of this special day.

I don’t have a sister, and I want to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. How do you celebrate Raksha Bandhan without a sister? Are there alternative ways to honor the tradition, maybe with close friends or other family members? I want to keep the spirit of the festival alive.
Yes, of course! Rakshabandhan is celebrated with all those who we want to protect or with whom we are safe or have an emotional bond, if you do not have any siblings then you celebrate it with a girl who you consider as your sister or any girl you want to protect, make them feel safe or have an emotional bond with. For a girl's POV it's all about the blessings and love she feels for her brother. She prays for the success of her brother. you can celebrate this festival with your friends and your family members too, and you can come to my live session for more information. Thank You So Much God Bless You & I wish that you Celebrate this beautiful festival With Your Friends And Family happily. Shriiya Shukla, Tarot Expert at CoTo .

How did Rakhi as a celebration start?? Why was it first celebrated by our Gods?? How did come into existence and why is celebrated so grandly across India??
As goes the name, Rakshabandhan means bond of protection. In earlier days, the priests used to tie raksha sutras Or threads for protection on the wrist of their kings. Over the time, sisters used such threads as a sign of commitment of protection from their brothers. Thus giving rise to modern day Rakshabandhan.

I'm the youngest one in the family. My mother is kinda old and there hasn't been any kind of celebration on mother's day. Please tell me, What are some best Mother's Day gift ideas for older mothers?
Anonymous7d
Since your mother is older and there hasn't been much celebration for Mother's Day in the past, consider giving her a gift that focuses on relaxation and comfort. You could arrange for a spa day or massage session to help her unwind and rejuvenate. Another idea is to create a personalized photo album or scrapbook filled with cherished memories and moments shared with her. Additionally, a heartfelt handwritten letter expressing your love and appreciation for her would be a meaningful and touching gesture.

You can give her sarees or flowers or a bag which she chosses

I remember hearing that Krishna was tied a Rakhi by someone significant. Who tied Rakhi to Krishna? What’s the story behind this, and what does it symbolize? Knowing this legend would add a rich layer to my understanding of Raksha Bandhan and its traditions.
According to the legend, Draupadi had once tied a piece of her saree on Krishna's wounded finger and he returned the favour by protecting her while she was getting disrobed. I often share such stories from our ancient books in my live shows and you can always join to share such insights.

My brother isn’t around this year, and I’m not sure how to celebrate. How do you celebrate Raksha Bandhan without a brother? Are there other ways to mark the occasion if your brother isn’t present? I’d love to hear any ideas or traditions that can still make the day special.
Hi dear yes many times you can tie the rakhi of lord krishna and your favourite plant and after that you can call your brother and said that I am tieing this rakhi of this plant behalf of you .
