Hey kavya, I can definitely relate personally. We women are highly fertile during our 20s, so we experience more cramps, heavy bleeding during these periods. There are few remedies that have proven to be helpful for few. One being yoga, heating pads work for the pain. Here's how nutrition can help- - Add enough fibre to your diet, because it helps in better digestion, is great for the microbiota present in the gut which ultimately helps in balancing estrogen levels. - Add enough protein to the diet, because protein is necessary for proper functioning of various hormones, and it helps in sailing through your period better. Less cravings, more energy, and lower the chances of binge-eating. - Add magnesium rich foods to the diet to alleviate cramps, and manage stress. Avocados, nuts, dark chocolate ( moderation only), wholegrains, fatty fish, etc. - Calcium & Vitamin D are necessary for a smooth sailing period. Heyy my fellow She-ro. I feel bloating is one of our existential enemy. Always embarrassing us. There are some food combos that definitely help. On the top are fermented foods and pre-probiotics. They improve your digestion too. Foods to avoid would be spicy foods, any sour foods.
