PCOS linked to suicide risk The context: Polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS is a common health condition among women that leads to irregular periods, acne, obesity, and cysts in the ovaries. It is also the leading cause of infertility. What happened now: A new study shows that women with this condition are more vulnerable to suicide. Specifically, those with PCOS had an 8.47-fold higher risk for suicide attempts. A possible reason: concerns over infertility and body image worries. Why this matters: It confirms earlier research that found PCOS can lead to depression and self-harm. Read more here: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/feb/05/women-polycystic-ovary-syndrome-higher-suicide-risk-study In other worrying news: for human health, real-life versions of ‘Jaws’ are on the rise across the world: “Along with the tally of fatal shark attacks, which jumped from five to 10 between 2022 and 2023, researchers also charted an increase in the number of non-fatal global shark attacks over that same time period. In 2023, there were 69 confirmed shark attacks worldwide, which was higher than the previous five-year average of 63 attacks.” Australia accounted for the highest unprovoked attacks (22%) and four deaths. According to researchers, surfers were bitten the most. This is most likely because the sharks mistook them for prey and got “test bites”. Rumination is not a disorder. It is a preventative cognition which is found alongside many disorder such as depression, anxiety, OCD & PTSD. What do you find yourself ruminating about the most ??

Most women who go for a stress test are already beyond the borderline. We carry so much without pausing to ask: How am I, really? ❤️‍🩹 This is your gentle reminder to take time for yourself. Mantras can be chanted during menstruation but one cannot use a japa-mālā. If you wish to count the recitations then use your fingers or iMālā app on your phone. Lord Varāha has taught in the Varāhā Purāṇa that a women can do anything she wants in terms of devotional service during her menstruation after reciting the following mantra:- anādi madhyāntam ajam purāṇam rajasvalā devavaram namāmi | "अनादि मध्यांतम अजम पुराणम्, रजस्वला देववरम् नमामि।" “Though in my menses I offer my obeisance to the preeminent Lord, the Unborn Eternal One without origin, middle or end.” (Varaha Purana 142;10) Very few people know this mantra and are thus subjected to so much anxiety and disability. So please share it with as many women as you can.
Thanks my love 💗

'Health is Wealth' - The World Health organisation has defined health as physical, mental & social well being! We can also add 2 more components to this definition- sexual health and spiritual health! All of us should look after these 5 aspects of health throughout our lives! Specially women need to give special attention from Menarche to Menopause to protect their well being. Balanced diet, exercises, good habits & timely medical intervention are four pillars for good health. It is commonly seen that women neglect their diet. Most Indian women are prone to develop deficiencies of iron, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B and proteins. Some women are obese while some are very thin and/or malnourished. Women look after their family members very well. But they neglect their own health. They require balanced diet including millets, legumes, sprouts, green leafy vegetables, fruits, milk etc. This ensures good health, glowing skin and hair. Amino acids, iron, vit C and zinc are important to strengthen immune system which in turn is vital for fighting various infections. Yes. absolutely I agree with you. If you are healthy then only you can work efficiently. Taking care of one's health is very important.
