Your reproductive hormones, estrogen and progesterone are protective to your heart. After menopause and with a decline of these hormones, there is a decrease in this protection. During menopause women are at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and the effects of high blood pressure, cholesterol etc. Therefore regular exercise, annual check ups with your doctor, taking the meds you have to and a healthy nutrition all contribute to your long term heart health during menopause.

Menopause is end of reproductive years. Feminine hormone estrogen starts declining. Skin may become dry, breasts may sag, wrinkles may develop. These outer changes should be taken in stride. Usually Indian women reach menopause around 46 years. These mature women do have self confidence and self respect. Every age has it's own beauty. Timely Medical help can be useful and rewarding!

I cannonly imagine how frustrating things can be. At this time, rather than beating yourself up, it would be ideal to cut yourself some slack. Find ways in which you don't have to remember everything, like making to-do lists, putting post-it reminders, asking someone for help. With having less things to keep a track of you are likely to be more focused in the work that you do and things you enjoy. If you feel making these changes do not help and you still find yourself frustrated, check in with your doctor to see if you can receive any medical assistance for what you are experiencing.

menopausal mood swings is coming but do not allow your mood to take the better of you as this will cause stress in your relationships also. Check your deficiency via some blood tests. Incorporate some exercise which helps release Endorphins - feel good hormones.

Menopause was rough. Hot flashes, mood swings, the whole thing. What should I do to cope?
One of the first things to do is to understand how the changes your body is going through impacts your daily functioning. It will take a while to find ways for you to cope, such as taking some time off, adding self-care routines and changing the way you dress etc to accomodate for hot flashes and changes for me opause. However, if you are unable to cope talk to your gynecologist for other options such as hormonal support, to see if you may benefit from them. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for the changes you experience during menopause. And the transition can be frustrating not knowing what's happening. But you can always get help and you don't have to be alone in the journey. Talk to friends, family etc to make them understand what you are feeling so that you surround yourself with the care and support you need.

For the past one week my daughter in law refused to clean the house and I said fine maybe she has periods and did it myself. I am tired now due to my menopause and I expect her to understand and do it. I don't want to come off as typical saas. How should I start the conversation?
Let her know you are going through Menopause and it’s difficult for you. If it still persist, do as much as you comfortably can. Such situations with family are most difficult and the most straight forward way out is to have a honest conversation

Many women in their menopausal years may struggle with their professional lives. Some are advancing in careers, some coming back, while some navigating through new career prospects. Physical changes can affect these phases significant. Studies have also shown the decline in estrogen can affect mood and can also affect how you respond to stress. The key is knowing what is important, and delegating as much as you can. While it may not be easy to explain the changes you are going through, pick up tasks you ca. mange. Discuss ways colleagues can help. Find ways to manage stress daily and don't let it pile on. Check in with your doctor on ways you might need medical help to manage symptoms. Finally, cut yourself some slack. Not everything has to be perfect, you will get where you need to be by pacing yourself.
