Sure, breastfeeding myths debunked.You can't get pregnant while breastfeeding.Formula is just as good as breast milk.Breastfeeding will make your breasts sag.You shouldn't breastfeed if you're sick.

Here are some foods that can support breast feeding and lactation
1) Whole Grains: Whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, and barley provide complex carbohydrates for sustained energy and are rich in vitamins and minerals like B vitamins and zinc.
2) oats- oats are rich in iron and is a good source of energy. It also helps in increasing the milk production.
3) leafy greens- such as spinach and methi leaves are rich in calcium, iron, and other vitamins and minerals
4) lean protein - Lean protein sources such as poultry, lean beef, tofu, and eggs provide essential amino acids for both mother and baby's growth and development.
5) calcium rich foods - Dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese are excellent sources of calcium, which is essential for bone health in both mother and baby.
6) Fatty fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for brain development in infants. They also provide protein and vitamin D.
This vitamin D can help in calcium absorption.

A healthy well balanced diet before, during, and after pregnancy will help in making breastfeeding a happy and easy journey for you and the baby.
Here's what you must do.
- Incorporate fibre, protein, and Omega 3 fatty acids in your diet.
- For fibre, vegetables, fresh fruits, wholegrains, beans, lentils are great.
- For protein opt for, lean meat ( chicken, and low-mercury fishes), dairy and dairy products, eggs, beans, lentils, seeds, and nuts.
- Omega 3 fatty acids can come from foods like fish, flaxseeds, olive oil, walnuts, avocado, canola oil, etc. If you have been suggested some supplements, please take those as well.
- Eat seasonal fruits, and vegetables, drink enough water, include foods rich in folate, iron, Vitamin A, calcium, iodine because these will form a good foundation for good health. Bell peppers, carrots, tomato, sweet potatoes, diary , leafy greens, beans, lean meat, nuts, seeds are good sources.

- It is safe to consume two small cups of coffee/tea in a day.
- As per research and recent data 200mg of caffeine is considered to be safe and anything more than that may increase the risk of miscarriage.
- So, moderate consumption of coffee is absolutely okay, and caffeine is also found in chocolates, and soda , so you need to be mindful about the consumption of these two as well :)
- Read the labels before you purchase anything, especially during pregnancy.Energy drinks, chocolate milk, coffee ice-cream, diet cola are known to have caffeine.

Alcohol present in the mother's blood can pass to the baby through the umbilical cord.
If you are pregnant, then, it's best to avoid alcohol, as even little alcohol can affect the growth of your baby.
So, there's no safe limit for alcohol in pregnancy and there is no safe alcohol as such :) All types of alcohols are harmful, including wine.
Alcohol consumption is likely to increase the chances of premature birth, stillbirths, and various other disabilities.
Hence, it's best to stay away from alcohol during pregnancy to avert issues that may affect the child in the long term :)
