And at other times, limits are imposed on us by the ecosystem. The first step of challenging these limits( self imposed or otherwise) is recognising them. I am not sure if you believe in the supreme power but my clients and my self have experienced tremendous results by identifying the root cause of traumas and surrendering them to the universe using healing techniques. First you have to be confident about your passion, have a concrete action plan for same and you have to trust yourself, Then try having a mediator in your family who can provide feedback to your dad about your goals and try sticking to a balance of your passion and maybe what your dad wants and reach to a middle ground if possible
