This was almost a decade ago, I was probably around 26-27 years old then. I had gained 20 odd kgs even though I did everything I believed to be right, counting calories, and working out every day to burn even more calories. BUT!! Hi there, I hope you are well. Ideally, you should see for a 2-3 days, and then, check with your gynecologist. Here are some questions that may help you in finding a solution :) - Have you noticed this often, or it has happened for the first time ? - Are you on any medications? - Have you recently started a new diet or exercise regime or have you reduced the number of calories in the diet ? - Are you stressed ? - Did you gain weight or lose weight recently? - Has your consumption of refined, processed or packaged foods increased off late ? If it isn't either of these, then, it's best to seek an opinion. I wouldn't suggest you to try any home-remedies :) I hope this helps, take care.

If periods are late by 8 days then it's fine. However if this occurs frequently every month then you should consult a gynecologist.
