Hi there, I hope you are well. A supportive partner would encourage you to do better in life, and will be happy to see you grow :) However, if that's not happening, then, it's better to have an open conversation about it with your partner in order to understand why he has been behaving in a certain manner. Yes, it can amount to toxic behaviour if despite having a conversation, he continues to behave in a similar manner. Sometimes, when a partner isn't able to do what he wanted to, he ends up making the other person( wife/partner/girlfriend)feel bad and tries to put her down even after she has achieved a lot in life. As if has been rightly said in the above comment, it is stemming from his insecurities. Talk it out to find a possible solution, and give him room to discuss his problems ( if any). Hopefully, you should be some improvement:) Take care.
