A comfortable space for your uncomfortable conversations on women's health.
I've been going through a rough time lately with anxiety and depression. I am just 21 and it's scaring me. Lately, I've noticed my sex drive completely tanking, and it's making me feel even more disconnected from my partner. We haven't talked about it yet, but I'm worried it's putting a strain on our relationship. Does anyone else experience this? Will he leave me? Is there a connection between mental health and sexual well-being?

Yes, there is strong connection between mental health and sexual life. Your stress and depression tax your emotional energy and gradually you lose interest in sex. Also if you are taking medicines for depression, they will worson your problem. Now you have to take special efforts to come out of this situation. If you are taking any medicines, talk to your doctor to change them or atleast reduce their doses gradually. Love yourself First & Try erogenic zones on your body. Have open discussion with your partner to let him know your side and you want to work on it with him. Try to develop newly refreshed intimate connection with him. Try different types of sex- oral or mutual masturbation etc. Keep some special time for you two to connect and share a intimate relationship. Sex is just one part of intimacy and you can try other sensual forms of intimacy like curdling, holding hand. During your coffee time, connect with your partner daily and discuss about things to keep spark alive.

Part 1: Between Two Worlds – The Emotional Strain of Moving Abroad The allure of moving abroad, whether to Canada, the USA, or the UK, is a dream many Indians aspire to. With promises of better career opportunities, financial stability, and a higher quality of life, it seems like the perfect path. But beneath the surface lies an emotional struggle—one that often goes unnoticed. Imagine leaving your close-knit family in India, where evenings are spent sipping chai and sharing stories, to find yourself alone after a long workday in a foreign land. Calls home become bittersweet reminders of what you’re missing—birthdays, weddings, and the comfort of loved ones. The emotional burden grows heavier with every milestone missed. 💬 “Bas thoda aur time” (Just a little more time), we say to family, convincing ourselves and them that the sacrifices are worth it. But the emotional toll of being far from home begins to creep in. The Loneliness of Distance Many Indians face a deep sense of isolation abroad. The warmth of familial bonds is replaced by the cold reality of independence. Professional pressures in unfamiliar workplaces feel overwhelming. Balancing Indian values with Western expectations often leads to an identity crisis. According to studies, South Asian immigrants are 60% less likely to seek mental health support compared to the general Canadian population, largely due to cultural stigma and a lack of understanding. But where do we turn when the weight becomes too much? How do we find someone who truly gets it? 💡 Stay tuned for Part 2, where we explore the need for culturally sensitive mental health support and how tailored services can bridge the gap.

Hi, everyone, I’m Yogita Sapra, a psychologist! I’m thrilled to be here with all of you today. My journey to becoming a psychologist started when I was young and witnessed the struggles my family faced with mental health challenges. One defining moment for me was when a close family member went through a difficult time and struggled to find the right support. I saw firsthand how much of an impact understanding and compassionate care could make. That experience ignited my passion for psychology and inspired me to pursue a career where I could help others navigate their own mental health journeys. Through years of study and practice, I’ve learned how powerful our minds are in shaping our overall well-being, and I’m excited to share tools and strategies that can help you lead a more balanced, fulfilling life.more
