Puberty Problems

A classmate of mine got her periods the other day and the bleeding was so much so that the stains could be seen even on the chair she was sitting on. We girls helped her out but some asked questions to her as to why was she having such an abnormal bleeding. Later, she told us that it is her first period cycle in 6 months and she suffers through PCOS. We advised her to consult a doctor if the bleeding persists but she refused. She did not want this problem of her to again become a burden for her parents. But are their ways we can reduce such bleeding with home remedies or actions?? If any please comment and let me know so that i can help her out. Is gynac the way out??

While it can be stressful, it is never advisable to self-treat without at least one consult with a healthcare provider. However, PCOS can often be managed with some lifestyle changes. These include a healthier diet, some exercise like walking, active ways to manage stress, sleeping well and attempting to stay within a normal weight range. These do not require a doctor and can be ways to start managing PCOS, if indeed your friend has been diagnosed. However, not having period for six months is highly concerning and should warrant medical attention

What supplements are recommended for menopause?
You would generally need calcium and vitamin d supplements once you hit your 40s. As you grow older your calcium absorption decreases and it is very important to maintain certain calcium levels for your bone and muscle strength. Vitamin d is needed for better absorption of calcium as well as for good mood regulation. Apart from that most other supplements get prescribed based on deficiency.
Menopause means stopping of female hormones, especially Estrogen. Because it is necessary for your vagina as well as your overall health, you can take so many natural Medicines instead of taking just supplements. You may face vaginal dryness, mood swings/ emotional ups and downs and osteoporosis. Also hot flushes irritates most. Just supplements are not sufficient if these symptoms are irritating you. Then Take proper consultation with your doctor. Natural medicines are more useful in my opinion.

Are there any dietary supplements you recommend to support my menstrual health based on my individual needs?
Hey there! 🌸 Looking to boost your menstrual health? Consider adding these essentials to your routine: Iron for replenishing lost blood, Vitamin B6 to ease those pesky PMS symptoms, Magnesium for calming those cramps, Omega-3 fatty acids to soothe inflammation, and don't forget Calcium for bone health and mood stability. Your body will thank you for the extra support!
hina2d
There is no restriction for your diet during your menstrual cycle. Nor are there any foods that you necessarily should eat, except for foods high in iron. Because of the blood loss, there is also some iron loss w/menstruation. Therefore, foods high in iron content can help replace the iron stores that women need. These foods can include dark chocolate in small amounts, molasses, and then green leafy veggies such as spinach, beef, turkey, etc. You can google for a more comprehensive list. Otherwise, no special diet is required.

Is oral sex possible during periods?? My boyfriend wants to try it out
If you both are comfortable, then go for it! However, consider going for a dental dam as infection during menstruation is high! You can consider using a menstrual cup or a tampon to avoid leakage. Infact, for a lot of people, arousal during menstruation is high and period blood acts like a natural lubricant!
Anonymous1d
Just use oral dams for protection because the risk of developing infections is very high during menstruation 🩸

My mom never told me about tampons but I recently heard about it through my group of friends. I did not want to ask them because I didn’t want to feel backward. What are they?? Can women of all age use them ?
Yes, any women who is menstruating can use tampon. Only one should be cautious while using it. Unlike a pad, it is placed internally, inside of the vaginal canal. They are made of rayon, or a blend of rayon and cotton, along with synthetic fibers. Depending on your flow, it can be kept inside for 6-8 hrs. Once inserted correctly, a tampon is held in place by the vagina and expands as it soaks up menstrual blood. However, in addition to menstrual blood, the tampon also absorbs the vagina's natural lubrication and bacteria, which can change the normal pH, increasing the risk of infections. So always cautious about changing it time to time. You can use pad/tampon/menstrual cup as per your need. But while playing sports, during swimming it's better to use tampon/menstrual cup. Tampons also are easy to store in a purse or pocket. Another advantage to tampons is that they can't be felt because they're inside the body.

A tampon is a menstrual product designed to absorb blood and vaginal secretions by insertion into the vagina during menstruation. Unlike a pad, it is placed internally, inside of the vaginal canal. Once inserted correctly, a tampon is held in place by the vagina and expands as it soaks up menstrual blood. Any girl of any age can who is menstruating can use them, there’s no one age where it suddenly becomes ok to use them or it’s not ok to use them.

How can nutrition play a role in addressing common women’s health concerns such as menstrual irregularities, PMS symptoms, or menopausal transitions?
Regulating menstrual cycles with iron-rich foods. Easing PMS symptoms through magnesium and vitamin B6.Managing menopausal symptoms with phytoestrogen-rich foods like soy.
Na_Dia3d
For menstrual irregularities and PMS symptoms, maintaining stable blood sugar levels by eating balanced meals with complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and lean proteins can help alleviate symptoms. Incorporating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, and vitamin B6 may also be beneficial. During menopause, consuming foods rich in calcium and vitamin D helps maintain bone health. Phytoestrogen-rich foods like soy products can help alleviate hot flashes and other symptoms. Adequate intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides essential nutrients and supports overall health during this transitional phase. Additionally, staying hydrated and reducing caffeine and alcohol intake can help manage symptoms.

Ayurveda for women community profile picture
🗓 Menstrual Health

At its core, the connection between Ayurveda and Women health is rooted in the balance and harmony of the female body. The ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda recognizes that each woman has unique needs, and through mindful practices such as yoga, diet and lifestyle, it seeks to empower women to embrace their natural cycles.Ayurveda works to achieve balance by addressing the three doshas, or subtle energies that govern our bodies. These doshas are known as vata, pitta and kapha. Each dosha is associated with the elements of wind, fire, and water respectively and serve to regulate the physical body and the mind. When our doshas are in balance, we are healthy, vibrant and radiating peace. At a deeper level, Ayurveda looks at the physiological changes that happen in the body during our menstrual cycle. On a vata dosha day, for example, a woman may experience feelings of restlessness or anxiety. On a pitta day, she may have an increased appetite or feel irritable. And on a kapha day, she may be proneto fatigue or have difficulty concentrating. By acknowledging these nuances and adjusting her diet and lifestyle accordingly, a woman can learn to identify which foods will best nourish and restore her balance during the different phases of her cycle. Ayurveda Priests or holistic health practitioners are also available to guide women in developing a meaningful relationship with their menstrual cycle. Through such practices as yoga, meditation, massage, and breathwork, these professionals help women understand not only their body’s response to their monthly fluctuations, but also how to intuitively respond to them. Ultimately, Ayurveda provides a safe, holistic space for women to honour and celebrate their cycle as an important part of their emotional and physical wellbeing. By becoming more mindful and aware of the subtle changes that occur each month from one dosha to another, women are able to learn how to better nourish and care for their bodies .more
