It doesn't have to, but if we do not communicate how we feel during our premenstrual phase it can affect our relationships. The irritability, anger, and wanting to be left alone, is not something you can often control. It's related to your hormones, and when your period comes around you feel much better. Communicating these changes with those who are close to us can help them understand why you feel a specific way and can also ask them for ways in which they can help you. This can help manage our relationships without affecting them significantly.

I am getting rashes from pads. What can I do to stop them?
docmfrank-8d
If you have noticed rashes with one pad brand, it maybe helpful to try another. Another reason could also be using the pad for extended periods of time, which makes you more prone to rashes. Alternatives can include period panties or cloth pads which can help prevent rashes and are also eco-friendly as they are reusable. During your periods opt for loose cotton underwear and change it twice a day to limit sweat and rashes. If this doesn't subside with these simple changes, check in with a doctor to understand a possible underlying cause.
hina-7d
Keep the affected area clean and dry, you can also apply a soothing cream or ointment that you can purchase over the counter. Ensure you're changing pads frequently to help prevent sanitary pad rash.

My boyfriend wants to have sex with me but I am on my periods. Can we do it??
In ancient times, it was said that a couple should not have sex during periods when woman is on her period. But From a modern medical point of view, sexual intercourse during menstruation is normal and not perversion. But it can be associated, although remotely, with undesirable pregnancy, the development of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and possible endometriosis. To avoid pregnancy/infection one can use condom while doing it. But regularly indulging in period sex can be cause of retrograde menstruation and it can carry fresh pieces of endometrium which can get implantated outside uterus like on ovaries, uterine ligaments or even rectum. This is endometriosis. So take this into consideration.
Yes you can absolutely do it! Infact, periods can make sex more pleasureable too as period blood is a natural lubricant! Just make sure you are being safe: using protection if you are not planning a pregnancy and to remain safe from STIs as well. Proper communication and consent are important!

#HealthCheck What are some common signs of an STD? Do all STDs have physical signs? The key to remember is most STDs can be treated through medications. Check in with your doctor at the earliest if you have any signs of an STD.
Yes, these are some symptoms, but there are possibilities that you might not have any symptoms for some days still you have STI. In some cases symptoms appear after window period just like in HIV infection. Some infection may remain silent and will make trouble to your partner/when you become weak on immunity level, they will start appearing. Women may experience the following symptoms also: Burning or itching in the vagina A discharge or odor from the vagina Pain around the pelvis Bleeding from the vagina that is not normal Pain deep inside during sex Sores, bumps or blisters in the vagina, anus, or mouth Burning and pain with urine or with bowel movements Having to go to the bathroom often warts/skin tags around genitals Some STI can give you cancer also like HPV infection. So never underestimate STI. whenever you have any of these symptoms, always consult with gynec or Sexologist. Get yourself tested If you have multiple partners always use precautions(condom/ female condom).

#PeriodTalk We all know from common knowledge that an ideal period lasts between 3-5 days. However, for some women periods can last for 7 days throughout their lives. This doesn't indicate that something is wrong. The ideal period length is the average you have for each period. A normal period day would be using 3-5 pads, or changing out your cup 3-4 times a day. More on the first couple of days when periods are usually heavier. If you have to use more than 5-7 pads during all days of your period and feel increasing fatigue it would be ideal to get it checked to ensure there is no cause for heavy bleeding and you don't have anemia as a result.

Hi, so my friend who saw blood yesterday but the periods didn't came. she at first thought it's her periods because she is about to have periods. is this a concern? her last time was 20 days late and it was longer than usual as well. What should she be doing?
Anonymous-21d
Unexpected bleeding, especially when it doesn't coincide with the expected menstrual cycle, can be a sign of a more serious issue, such as: Uterine fibroids Endometriosis.
nanc-21d
The fact that her last period was 20 days late and longer than usual suggests an irregularity that should be addressed.

Ayurveda for women community profile picture
🗓 Menstrual Health

At its core, the connection between Ayurveda and Women health is rooted in the balance and harmony of the female body. The ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda recognizes that each woman has unique needs, and through mindful practices such as yoga, diet and lifestyle, it seeks to empower women to embrace their natural cycles.Ayurveda works to achieve balance by addressing the three doshas, or subtle energies that govern our bodies. These doshas are known as vata, pitta and kapha. Each dosha is associated with the elements of wind, fire, and water respectively and serve to regulate the physical body and the mind. When our doshas are in balance, we are healthy, vibrant and radiating peace. At a deeper level, Ayurveda looks at the physiological changes that happen in the body during our menstrual cycle. On a vata dosha day, for example, a woman may experience feelings of restlessness or anxiety. On a pitta day, she may have an increased appetite or feel irritable. And on a kapha day, she may be proneto fatigue or have difficulty concentrating. By acknowledging these nuances and adjusting her diet and lifestyle accordingly, a woman can learn to identify which foods will best nourish and restore her balance during the different phases of her cycle. Ayurveda Priests or holistic health practitioners are also available to guide women in developing a meaningful relationship with their menstrual cycle. Through such practices as yoga, meditation, massage, and breathwork, these professionals help women understand not only their body’s response to their monthly fluctuations, but also how to intuitively respond to them. Ultimately, Ayurveda provides a safe, holistic space for women to honour and celebrate their cycle as an important part of their emotional and physical wellbeing. By becoming more mindful and aware of the subtle changes that occur each month from one dosha to another, women are able to learn how to better nourish and care for their bodies .more
