Hey there Depression is a mental disorder that in its severity can impact a person’s daily functioning and can show up in different people in different ways. The intensity can range to a level where a person is unable to perform their activities of daily living. High functioning depression is when someone is grappling with depression while accomplishing their day to day responsibilities and activities. But, the severity of the disorder is still significant.

Yes, high-functioning depression is a term used to describe individuals who experience symptoms of depression while still maintaining a relatively high level of functioning in their daily lives. These individuals may appear successful, competent, and productive on the outside, but internally they struggle with symptoms such as persistent sadness, low energy, feelings of emptiness, and difficulty experiencing pleasure.

I am a psychologist and I got you! Imagine you have a friend Deepika. Deepika seems happy and does all the things she’s supposed to do like going to office, talking to colleagues and what note. But deep down, she feels sad and worried a lot of time. She might not show it outside, but on the inside, she’s feeling extremely low and broken. This is what high functioning depression looks like. عمري 19 لدي هلع دائماً أخاف من فكرة الموت وافكر فيه كثيراً وأشعر دائما اني سأموت مع وجع بالصدر ونغزات وشعور غريب بالقلب و صداع من اليسار والم بالجسم
انا اعاني من عدم القدرة على النوم أحاول انام ما اقدر، اجلس ساعتين او ثلاث وانا أحاول انام وانا افكر كيف ادخل إلى النوم وانا اعاني وصرت أخاف من النوم.
حياتي كانت طبيعية ومفيش فيا أي حاجه لحد ما حصل معايا موقف وانا بقت بفكر بالموت كتير ،وبقيت بربط كل الأحداث بالموت ، بقي معايا وسواس بلع الريق ، وسواس الموت اللي مش فارق دماغي ، حتى لو اجيت اتبسط بتيجي ببالي فكرة الموت ، حتى بفكر بالمستقبل وبربط كل الأحداث بالموت ، اي حاجة بتجعني بجسمي بربطها بالموت هل اذهب لاخصائي نفسي او معالج او استشاري هل في امل ارجع لحياتي
