I am suffering with depression from past 10-12 years. I am taking regular psychiatric medicines also. But the major problem which I am facing in life is that I am having a vascillating mind. I am not able to stick to one plan for more than 2-3 days. I cannot follow anything religiously or with consistency. I lose my interest in anything I decide to do very soon. I can't even take bath daily because of mental lethargy. I have gained a lot of weight in these 10-12 years. It's 122 kg currently. I have tried meditation, yoga, walking, exercise everything. But I am not able to continue these things for a long time. I give up in 2-3 days everytime. I am 30 years old. I want to change my life. I want to get out of this vicious circle. How can I come out of it. Please widen my horizon about what is that is hindering in my life to move on and flourish and change. please advise and help me with your suggestions.

Hey there, thank you for sharing. Feeling like you've tried a lot of things and nothing working can be truly disheartening. It's understandable you feel frustrated and exhausted. I want to acknowledge the effort you've put in to find ways to feel better. It's definitely not easy. Since you've already been on medication for a long time, it's natural for your body to get resistant to it. Along with the meds, I would suggest to seek professional guidance from a psychologist for a fresh perspective. Sometimes a new perspective gives a glimmer of hope and might pave the way for your progress. Additionally, having a strong support system(friends, family) can also help you with motivation. Remember to be gentle with yourself during this challenging time, it's okay to take breaks and prioritize self care. Even though it might not feel like it now, things can change. If you want to explore further, you can get on a one-on-one call with me on the platform.

Hi! Hope you are doing well. I can completely understand what you are going through and how tough it must be. As a therapist, my recommendation would be to take baby steps: don’t start with everything all at once. Choose one good habit you wanna inculcate and do that for a week. Then next week, add on another good habit along with the previous one and so on. Change is made gradually. You cannot go from 0 to 100 in one day right? So take it slow. First go to 10, then 20, then 30 and so on. Make sure you take breaks also. Creating a schedule for yourself with both work and play can help you create a healthy balance. Take care 🩵

Does anxiety control your life or do you control your anxiety?
Hi I am a counselling psychologist, helping people to manage their stress and daily life mental health challenges. I would like to answer your question. Agar anxiety aapke decisions aur daily activities ko impact kar rahi hai, to samjho anxiety aapko control kar rahi hai. Lekin agar aap techniques use kar rahe ho anxiety ko manage karne ke liye, to aap apni anxiety ko control kar rahe ho. I hope my answer helped. You can connect with me in live sessions also to get your anxiety managed.

Is it okay to feel guilty abt questioning my long-held beliefs?? This thought is actually taking over my mental health now.
Hello there, yes why not. We all change every single day, and with that our thoughts also change, and so if at a srage you feel like some belief is not working for you now or limiting you in any way,you can definitely question it and assess it. Nothing wrong, it just means you are growing.

My partner has been shutting me out lately, giving me the silent treatment. I keep trying to talk things through, but they just withdraw further. Is this what they call "stonewalling" in relationships? What should I do?
Hello dear, first I hope my answer finds you well. Secondly, I can not give his attitude a name as the whole situation is not clear. If you want my advice, do not judge him or keeping yourself busy by giving his behavior a name instead, try to re-evaluate the relaionship and the causes behind his recent change. You should also open a discussion with him, listen carefuly and explain your concerns clearly, then and according to his reaction to the previous you can make a conclusoion and consequently a proper decision.

Recently, I have realized that the way I think or feel ant certain moral things do not align with others and that has also led to a lot of relations of mine going down the pipeline. I kind off feel off and demotivated now, but i know i shouldn’t be. How can i make myself feel better abt it??
Hi... it's okay if you have different sense of morality... because people not validating us actually doesn't matter... people who matters will stick around... however who leaves let them leave... also none of us remain motivated all the time... and that's okay. The fear of death is freaking me out! How do you deal with the unknown of what happens after we die? Any tips for overcoming the fear of the afterlife, or just accepting that it's a mystery?
Hello there, it must be very difficult to live with such a feeling. Why don't you try and find out what is causing this feeling in you, or when did it start to bother you. or maybe there is a trigger to it. And I would also suggest you to get in touch with a psychologist/coulsellor who can help you with this in an effective manner.

It's been a month since Grandma passed, and everyone expects me to be a sobbing mess. But honestly, I'm furious. Angry she left, angry at the illness that took her, angry at myself for not saying goodbye properly. Is this weird? Social media posts are full of tearful tributes, but I just feel this rage. Is it okay to be mad at someone you loved who died? I need to understand these confusing emotions and find a way to express them before they explode.
Hi there, I firstly want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one can never, ever be easy. Grief can manifest itself in various manners, sometimes they are even unexpected or confusing. I am a psychologist and would love to help you out with these emotions. A few things you can try to do to understand your emotions are to realise and accept that anger, is in fact a part of the grieving process. This usually stems from feeling helpless, abondon or something that is unresolved. Accept you're anger, guilt and regret but never forget to be compassionate to yourself as you are also going through a hard time. To express yourself you can try journaling your feelings, physical activities, reach out to your friends or can come talk with me. I hope you're feeling well, would love to hear from you soon.

I largely fear that the choices that I make are not good for me. Which in reality is not the case. But my anxiety tells otherwise and always stops me from making independent decisions due to fear of making the wrong choices or failure. How can I stop these bad feelings and become confident with my choices??
Hello, I would suggest to override these thoughts by making a list of decisions that gave you positive outcomes and keep reminding yourself everytime you catch yourself in negative self- talk. Practice positive affirmations of traits that you wish to imbibe in yourself. The process has to be a conscious effort for which you will have to catch yourself everytime you are slipping into a negative self- talk. Try this out and let me know. Love, Arthi Sujai
