"Stereotype Warriors" community refers to individuals who actively challenge and combat stereotypes in various contexts, such as gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or other social categories. These individuals strive to raise awareness, promote inclusivity, and dismantle prejudiced assumptions. They work towards fostering understanding, acceptance, and equal opportunities for all, encouraging others to challenge their own biases and preconceptions. Stereotype Warriors play a vital role in promoting a more tolerant and equitable society.
I am a hindu by religion and when my periods started at the age of 12 the first thing my mom told me was not to touch the mandir in our home, anything used in the puja, salt, the pickle bottle etc.. There were so many instructions for a 12year that I eventually forgot some of them and even got beaten coz of it. Now the question that has always been in my mind is that why arent women allowed ro visit temples on their periods? What is the actual reason behind it?

Religious and Cultural attitudes toward menstruation can differ, so it's important to consider the perspectives of your own community or religious group rather then feeling bad about it

In some Hindu traditions, menstruating women are believed to be ritually impure and are asked to refrain from temple visits and participating in religious rituals during their periods. This practice is based on cultural beliefs surrounding purity and hygiene.

If we go to pee/toilet, we first clean ourselves and then only come to the temple. Why? Because we have removed waste from our body. Periods are nothing but waste only. Every month your body makes a new seed and inner lining of the uterus to prepare a healthy bed for a baby. But if it is unused, it has to be washed away as waste through periods. So actually till we are expelling this waste, we can ourselves keep away from the temple. Previously in the old era, women were given rests during this periods. But with time these rituals are changed as society wanted. So she was allowed to do some work and made her feel ashamed of herself. But originally this thing was introduced to give you complete rest, as during this period we are carrying a bleeding wound and having pain because of it. I am not saying that you should only listen to what I tell you. It's ok to have a different opinion. This is solely my opinion.

Women are not allowed in the temple as they are considered impure and people think that it will spoil their culture. I don't think it is correct. we just follow what our parent's taught us and they just tell us what the society instructs us to do

At its core, the connection between Ayurveda and Women health is rooted in the balance and harmony of the female body. The ancient Indian practice of Ayurveda recognizes that each woman has unique needs, and through mindful practices such as yoga, diet and lifestyle, it seeks to empower women to embrace their natural cycles.Ayurveda works to achieve balance by addressing the three doshas, or subtle energies that govern our bodies. These doshas are known as vata, pitta and kapha. Each dosha is associated with the elements of wind, fire, and water respectively and serve to regulate the physical body and the mind. When our doshas are in balance, we are healthy, vibrant and radiating peace. At a deeper level, Ayurveda looks at the physiological changes that happen in the body during our menstrual cycle. On a vata dosha day, for example, a woman may experience feelings of restlessness or anxiety. On a pitta day, she may have an increased appetite or feel irritable. And on a kapha day, she may be proneto fatigue or have difficulty concentrating. By acknowledging these nuances and adjusting her diet and lifestyle accordingly, a woman can learn to identify which foods will best nourish and restore her balance during the different phases of her cycle. Ayurveda Priests or holistic health practitioners are also available to guide women in developing a meaningful relationship with their menstrual cycle. Through such practices as yoga, meditation, massage, and breathwork, these professionals help women understand not only their body’s response to their monthly fluctuations, but also how to intuitively respond to them. Ultimately, Ayurveda provides a safe, holistic space for women to honour and celebrate their cycle as an important part of their emotional and physical wellbeing. By becoming more mindful and aware of the subtle changes that occur each month from one dosha to another, women are able to learn how to better nourish and care for their bodies .more
