Why do I get really anxious whenever I open social media? It's like when I open Twitter/Instagram or even Snapchat, I feel very anxious and become really depressed afterward. @NikitaDudani3498

I think a lot of I think a lot of people feel this way. This is where the FOMO came from (fear of missing out). And if you look into it you'll see that a lot of social media leads to anxiety and depression because we are comparing ourselves to other people. People tend to only post the good things happening in their life so when we scroll on to Facebook or Snapchat and we see that they're having a great time with all these people or we're sitting at home looking at your phone watching them have a good time it definitely makes you feel like crap. The use if social media is linked to mental health. It's expected. My advice would be to limit social media and find other ways to fill your time. Hobbies, friends, small daily adventure, going walking etc. Focus on you and your growth

social anxiety can be reason for it. often what is shown on social media is happy and not real challenges and unknowingly we tend to compare oneself with it. if as a person you are introvert or have socially conscious, such things may cause anxiety. best way to deal with is to remind yourself that your life is beautiful as it is. for social anxiety, you can talk to a professional or book a session with me
