Hi, I am feeling depressed because of my heavy weight. I am always teased by family members and friends as well. Feeling the weight of societal expectations about body image can be incredibly challenging and emotionally draining. How can individuals effectively manage societal pressures about weight, and what balanced approach do you recommend for those considered overweight?

Hi there I hope you are well. As a nutritionist, and clinical dietitian, I completely understand what you must have endured in the last few days/months/years. You need to talk it out with your family, and remember you are 'beautiful'. Take all this positively rather than taking it negatively.....and start working on your progress :) Stun them with your transformation. Here's what you can do to lose weight in the long run - - Always remember protein and fibre are important for weight loss, hence, these are to be an essential part of the diet. - Drink enough water for enhanced metabolic activity. - Avoid ultra processed, packaged, and refined foods. - Have your favourite foods once a while. - Ward of stress by meditation, and yoga. - Exercise for 30mins, at least 5 times a week. - Have a positive self-talk with yourself. - Start your mornings with positive affirmations, and some soaked almonds. - Stay more active throughout the day, and reduce screen time :) I hope this helps.
