Hey everyone, I am Nikita Dudani - practicing Psychotherapist and counselor. I specialise in working with children and adolscents and young adults. This group is a safe, warm, empathetic and understanding space where you are welcome to share, ask, and discuss anything related to mental health. Let us speak up, show up, and heal ourselves.
I’m a person who gets PSD (Post Series Depression) after finishing a book or movie series that I am particularly attached to. Does anyone else out there experience the feeling of not being able to reread or rewatch a series because of this heartache? @nnikittadudannii

I get you. What happens to me sometimes is that after a book or movie ends really emotional and sad I love it but I also feel….I guess the closest emotion for me is fear. You know what happens, you know how it ends, and once you start rewatching it for me it gets even sadder than the ending or whatever part you’re dejected about, because you are reminded of how they used to be and how they no longer are in the final moment. I just have read an amazing series with a haunting and beautiful ending. I’ll probably going to remember it forever. But it was also really, really heartbreaking. Even now, I still catch my mind wandering off to the end and thinking about it and all the what-could-have-been’s.

Yes, it happens when we become too involved with the series or books. some things that can help you are: 1) Remind yourself that this is a fiction and for entertainment 2) Post reading or watching it, try to involve in daily activities. stay in touch with people so that you don't feel the depression 3) Connect to hobbies that help you
