Hi Lee, I hope you are well. Yes, rice is good if eaten in moderation. I personally enjoy consuming white rice, and brown rice occasionally. Why rice is good for you during weight loss as well. - It gives you energy - Easy to digest. - Brown rice has more fibre than white rice but that can make a negligible difference but if you enjoy brown rice, then, you can consume it. So, brown rice is the entire grain whereas white rice lacks the bran and the germ ( important parts of any grain). - White rice is a good source of B vitamins, and manganese. - Brown rice digests slowly and doesn't cause immediate blood spikes. However, brown rice isn't inherently superior than white rice because everything is about pairing your food well. - Always have sauteed veggies/a salad and a protein source along with your rice, and believe me it won't cause sugar spikes. - Hence, fret not rice is okay to consume even on a weight loss diet :) I hope this helps.Take care ✨

Hey Lee, Rice has similar calories as wheat but the difference is wheat has fibre content in it and rice doesn’t Also rice is starchy & gets digested soon which can spike your sugar levels and in terms of weight when the rice is not used as energy as it gets digested, the calories will be stored in the form of fat which leads to weight gain So enjoy rice in moderation For more details and a tailored diet plan book a one on one session with me @Dietitian_Sheema and join my communities @Health harbor & @NutriVibe

As a young girl, I often feel pressured by social media to look a certain way. How can I maintain a healthy body image and make food choices that support my well-being?
It's okay to feel pressure, but don't let it affect you. Follow self-care practices and limit your use of social media because, as you know, not everything online is the same

I have gone through it, we often take social media seriously. But dear let me tell you it's all illusion. You are beautiful in your own way. You must try to be better version of yourself instead of trying to compete with others.

I’ve been trying to lose weight but find it hard to stick to a diet. How can I create a sustainable meal plan that I’ll actually enjoy?
Hi there, I hope you are well. I hear you, and you are not alone :) Here's how you can adopt a healthier lifestyle. - Firstly, understand that you just don't have to go on a diet to lose weight. Rather, you need to adopt a lifestyle which will stay with you for longer. - Along with a balanced diet, you need to incorporate exercise ( for 4-5 times a week, 30mins at least) , drink enough water ( 8-10 glasses), sleep well( 7-8hrs), and manage stress ( by meditation or yoga). - Enjoy the food that you consume, and take small bites, and chew your food well. - Incorporate fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, eggs, lean meat, wholegrains, dairy and dairy products to your diet. Avoid restricting a particular food group. - Eat your favourite foods once in a while, so that you aren't missing on to anything. - Avoid distractions during meal time. Keep your phone, tab, and laptop away. - Learn to practice moderation and stick to your portions rather than over-indulging :)

My school classmates forced me to send my pictures on our group chat as we had not seen each other since long, but when I did post them, they started telling me how much I have changed and how much weight I have gained. This has made me feel terrible about myself but I don’t want it to effect me. What do I do??
Ofcourse you must have gained weight since you met them last, and I am assuming it was many years back. If you were conscious about yourself, you would not have send the pics, the fact is rhat you are not liking their opinions about yourself. Have that clarity, and don't let others opinions affect you negatively....be confident as what you are.

Heya everyone This is my first time using the app.Kindly ignore any mistakes. I am kind of chubby or you can say overweight 24 years old girl.Initially I didn't have any insecurities. But since a year or two when I moved to Delhi.I constantly try to fit in among people. But it feels like I'm losing a part of me.🥲
hey Anonymous. one needs to be physically fit, not to please anyone but for urself. Being overweight should not be the reason for your insecurities . You need to accept yourself first only then others will accept you if you feel you are loosing urself trying to fit in... ask yourself what is it that you are doing that's creating discomfort within you ... identify and work on it.. good luck 👍

Hi I want to lose my weight and please help me to motivate myself consistent. Guide me to lose weight bcoz am a mother of 14months old
Hi there, I hope you are well. - Motivation will usually last for a few days or weeks, however, discipline can last forever. - To lose weight, you will have to bring in discipline in your daily routine. - You need to prepare yourself mentally as well as physically. - Stay determined that you won't give up and start by making small changes in your routine. - Start by incorporating more fibre in the diet. Eat two servings of fruits, a bowl of salad for lunch as well as dinner daily. - Avoid packaged, ultra-processed and refined foods. - Eat in portions. - Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. - Add protein to each of your meals, even snacks. - Have mid-meals or healthy snacks. - Start your morning with handful nuts, or seeds. - Keep a tab on your salt, sugar, and oil intake. - Have home-made meals that are easier to digest. - Get at least 7-8hrs of sleep on a regular basis. - Go for a walk at least 4 times a week. - Manage stress levels my meditation and yoga. I hope this helps ✨
